Tarun Tahiliani | Lakmé Fashion Week A/W 2016
It's that time of the the season when we gaze with amazement at Tarun Tahiliani's consistent creativity, and wonder what we're doing in life without his clothes.
Tahiliani has clearly kept the tone of his new collection earthy and grand, with most models flaunting shades of maroon and black and jade-green and rust-orange.
The runway was a tribute to that - cobweb like ripes surrounded the catwalk, encasing the models like a protective barrier. Fringe dangled like ropes from the ends of the sarees, the edge of the shawls and the peplum of the waistcoat worn by the stunning showstopper Kangana Ranaut. Fitted tops, the bodice and his anarkalis or the tight saree blouse came in a see-through woven mush that echoed the geometric patterns of the set.
