Rishta | Lakmé Fashion Week A/W 2016
Arjun Saluja's label 'Rishta' presented daring and bold garments, the models trapped in poses that were arresting visually for his collection called 'Haq'.
Deconstruction played a major role in his collection called 'Dissonance'. Taking the audience on the roller coaster journey, Arjun took classic silhouettes like the Sherwani, Sharara and Aligarh pants broke them down into contemporary fluid drapes and turned them into occasion wear.
Fabrics and textures were cleverly juxtaposed to celebrate some imperfections and broke away from realities. Muted tones of red, deep navy, charcoal, mustard, olive, ivory and the 'must have' black, gave the fabrics an interesting treatment. A few prints at times broke the monotony of the solids, but fitted perfectly into the theme of the collection.
There was a mix of cotton, different varieties of silks, like crêpe and hand woven wool that gave the ensembles their distinct characteristic touches that Arjun is known for.
The 'Dissonance' collection by Arjun Saluja for his Rishta label was a melodramatic fashion statement that fashionistas will find totally desirable for their wardrobe.
