KA SHA | Lakmé fashion Week A/W 2016
Inspired by the aerial views of landscapes and by the geometry of organic natural objects.Karishma Shahani Khan's label featured her trademark layered, soft silhouettes with plenty of tassels and tie-dye patterns. The colour palette included primary and secondary shades like tangerine, indigo, mustard, berry, purple and red.
We're loving the unusual spin on a sari paired with a blazer. The collection which was replete with cropped jackets and fun casual was good enough to wear right off the ramp. The boho-chic vibe that was seen in all the garments lent an air of freshness with its vibrant hues.
If you need a lesson in layering, you don't need to look far! One look at KA-SHA's collection and you'll get what I mean. Layering has always been the essence of this brand, not just in term of styling but also in fabric reinterpretation. tie-dye, fringe, pom-poms, ruffles are signature elements of Ka-sha and this collection embraced these elements in their fully glory.
What is striking to note is the fabric manipulation, how the leftover trims are used as design elements in dresses, scarves, jackets etc. The vibrant colour palette interestingly gives the colours the right amount of Indian-ness you'd one. The designer, Karishma Shahani-Khan, successfully managed to marry the current trends with her design sensibility to deliver an undulating bohemian collection.
