Rajesh Pratap Singh | Lakmé Fashion Week A/W 2016
Delhi designer Rajesh Pratap Singh's has an eclectic take on Punjabi suit.
"This collection is inspired by the Punjabi suit, which my friend, Rohit Bal. made me understand." The designer is known for his minimalistic styling and intense construction, the designer revealed an interesting and innovative look from the coming festive season.
Closing the show was Bollywood's latest pin-up girl Jacqueline Fernandez. Donning an avant-garde and a rather futuristic version of the suit, Fernandez was decked in a buttoned-up shirt paired with cigarette pants and flouncy skirt. The silver jacket with the golden border effortlessly thrown in with the overall sliver ensemble added the required swag.
Known for this clean-cut silhouettes and chic wearable men's and women's wear, Singh's latest collection at Lakmé Fashion Week 2016 saw the designer experimenting with paper, silk, linen and cotton, all woven in-house. There were very specific trends that emerged from the show. Dominating among them was the entry of cropped pants - whether you pair it with a kurta or even in a pant suit, the season of crop is very much here! And team it with flats, stripes were also found in abundance and the recurring colour scheme in the collection was the use of earthy shades.
We love the striped double-breasted jacket with salwars, capri pants, denim-waistcoats and striped dhoti pants.
