Ekam | Lakmé Fashion Week A/W 2016
Ekam showcased a Japanese-based collection, taking inspiration from Kimonos and the bright red sun associated with the country. The bombers looked cool and should definitely be added to your winter wardrobe. Reminding us so much of downtown Tokyo, we're also a huge fan of the illustrations by Frida Kahlo that found their way onto the clothes.
There is a distinct taste of 'sporty' with this Ekam collection.
Having inspiration taken from Kimono, the design Armaan Randhawa incorporated Japanese motifs like the red sun in several designs. With twin lions being the running motif, the Frida Kahlo illustrations, and some floral motifs even made a little appearance. Though these motifs were limited, the collection gave a wide range of contemporary cuts including capes, jackets, trench coats, midi's, skirts, track pants and crop tops. Adding an edge of sportiness were the oversized sleeves and the polo necks that stayed as a constant throughout the collection.
