Manav Gangwani ICW 2016
Manav Gangwani • India Couture Week • 2016
Manav Gangwani's collection 'Begum-e-Jannat' was an inspiration from the Mughal era but with a fusion twist for the modern women. The collection involves intricate embroidery and bold colours on fabrics like velvet, silk and tulle. Kangana Ranaut walked the ramp as a showstopper and won all our hearts.
"Kangana is a very versatile person and it is easy working with her. She exudes a certain charm and a classic yet modern vibe that sets perfectly with my collection this year"
- Manav Gangwani
The showstopper was dressed in a luxurious maroon lehenga, adorned with mirror work teamed up with a heavily embroidered lehenga, the actress looked every inch as a royal that she is. The look was completed with her signature curls and opted for a minimal makeup.
The collection 'Begum-e-Jannat' was an ode to Gangwani's friend Zainab Nedou Patel, who passed away recently. Silk velvet, sheer gauzy tissues, tulle sprinkled with mirror work were the fabrics used for his ensembles. The collection elegantly captured the era of Mughals with showcasing intricately designer lehengas, sherwanis, sarees and flowing kaftans.
The models sashayed down the ramp with a background score specially curated music by Amaan and Ayaan Ali Bangash.
